Exciting January 2023 Switch Games To Watch Out For
The January 2023 Switch games lineup is more exciting than anticipated. With big brands like Fire Emblem, Spongebob Squarepants, and Persona to look forward to, we can’t wait for this month’s titles.
A Space For The Unbound
If you like your narrative-focused games, you’ll potentially be into A Space For The Unbound. It has a beautiful art style that looks like a mixture between pixels and watercolour paintings. It also may have a promising story set in the 1990s, which features “overcoming anxiety, depression, and the relationship between a boy and a girl with supernatural powers,” according to the game’s Steam page. We also don’t see many games set in Indonesia, so there will likely be unique settings for us to see when A Space For The Unbound releases on January 19
Fire Emblem Engage
Fire Emblem Engage is probably the most anticipated January 2023 Switch game on this list. Fans of the long-running strategy series might be happy to know that you team up with prior heroes in the series like Marth, Celica, and Roy as they give you their weapons and abilities in battle. There’s also a cast of characters originally for Engage that you’ll get to know. Get ready to fight the Fell Dragon on January 20.
Lone Ruin
Lone Ruin is a top-down shooter that focuses on spells and magic in an ancient city. As you go further into this roguelite game, you’ll discover the mystery of why the city has been corrupted for many years. The publisher Super Rare Originals says you can “maximise your destructive magical setup combo through the many upgrades and customisation options available as you venture deeper into the ruins via your chosen path” on the Steam page. It will be dropping on the Nintendo Switch on January 12.
Persona 4 Golden
One of the best JRPGs ever Persona 4 Golden will be launching on the Nintendo Switch January 19. It has an engaging battle system that has you capturing shadows and then using them in battle. The storyline is epic with an intriguing mystery throughout and wonderful, full-fledged characters to meet, and themes that will make you question everyday life. The graphics haven’t aged well, since its a game of the PS2 era, but don’t skip this January 2023 Switch game.
Spongebob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake
The spiritual sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is heading to the Nintendo Switch on January 31. The Cosmic Shake is following most major franchises by having SpongeBob visit multiple universes called Wishworlds; there are a total of seven. In addition to the Wishworlds, there are over 30 costumes that SpongeBob can wear, referencing past episodes and possibly movies in the series. We can’t wait to go platforming again in Bikini Bottom and beyond. There’s a BFF Edition if you want to spend some major cash on this January 2023 Switch game.
