Tintin: Cigars of the Pharoah Coming to Switch in 2023
Publisher Microids and developer Pendulo Studios have recently announced that a brand new game based on the popular Adventures of Tintin comics series, titled Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharaoh, will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC in 2023.
What’s in Store for Tintin and Snowy?
First announced back in April of 2020, Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharaoh is inspired by the iconic adventure comic book series by publisher Herge, which so far has more than 275 million units worldwide.
The game will be a new, dynamic co-production by Moulinsart and Microids, and follow Tintin and his faithful dog Snowy as they set sail on an incredible new adventure to uncover the secrets of the Pharaoh Kih-Oskh’s tomb. After meeting with the Egyptologist Sophocles Sarcophagus during a Mediterranean cruise, the reporter becomes intrigued by the mysterious tomb holds, but will he be prepared for the terrible secrets it hides?
This game will immerse players into the comic book’s enthralling universe as they travel Egypt to India and Arabia, with art direction faithful to Herge’s drawings.
“Being able to work on an adaptation of the famous Belgian reporter’s adventure is a delight,” said Microids CEO Stephane Longeard in a press release.
“We started working on the game a few years ago and we cannot wait to show more to our players worldwide. If I had one thing to add, I’d say that we’ll do everything in our power to pay tribute to Herge’s work and offer the fans the adaptation of their dreams.”
