How to grab in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
To initiate a throw on the controller in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, you’ll need to press both the X and A buttons at the same time. If you’re nearby the opponent, your character will grab your opponent and typically follow it up with an attack of their weapon. Something to keep in mind, however, is that throwing too far away from the opponent will leave you wide open to strikes from the enemy. Make sure you time your throws well.
If an enemy is in the air too often, you can take advantage of that with an air throw. Simply press the X and A buttons at the same time while you’re in the air to slam them down to the ground.
If your opponent successfully initiates a grab, you still have a shot of canceling it. You just need to press the X and A buttons at the same time as they do when a red exclamation mark pops up for a brief moment. If they’re being predictable with their throwing timing, you can stop the throw from occurring with this counter.
