Kingdom Hearts Coming to Switch Via Cloud Streaming

Kingdom Hearts

During today’s Mr. Sakurai Presents, Sakurai-san and Square Enix confirmed that Kingdom Hearts games are coming to the Nintendo Switch via the cloud streaming service. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix Cloud Version, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind Cloud Version will all be released on the hybrid console, although there is no word on a release date for any of them.

This announcement went alongside today’s final Mr. Sakurai Presents which also announced that Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series is the final character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. He is a perfect character to close the game out on and having Kingdom Hearts games on the Switch, even if in cloud streaming, is a wonderful surprise.

Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura did mention last year that he wanted to bring the series to the Switch somehow, and it looks like the cloud streaming service was the best option.

We will keep you up to date when we learn more about these titles and their release dates.
