Over on Kickstarter, there tend to be a lot of fun ideas for games, but every so often an older platform is resurrected and a new Kickstarter campaign announces that they are bringing their new title to said old platform. Goodboy Galaxy is a game made by Rik, a first-time creator on Kickstarter, and they are bringing the ambitious title to the Game Boy Advance system. Not only that, but it surpassed an early stretch goal that brings the title digitally to the Nintendo Switch and PC.

About Goodboy Galaxy
Goodboy Galaxy is a brand-new exploration-focused adventure platform game in development for the 20-years-old Game Boy Advance. It’s kind of like Cave Story or a cuter Metroid. It’ll be released on real cartridges as well as digitally for GBA and modern platforms.
We’re also hoping to raise enough to fund an enhanced version for PC and Switch that will take advantage of stronger hardware capabilities (modern aspect ratio, remastered audio, couch co-op and other extras).
- Explore colourful tightly-packed levels with multiple routes
- Meet 50 characters and collect their friendship cards
- Traverse the galaxy and hunt down secret areas
- Upgrade your blaster with special abilities
Goodboy Galaxy has already well surpassed their initial funding goal and are blowing through their stretch goals, and they still have plenty of time to raise even more.
If you are interested in the game, please check out their Kickstarter campaign for more, and if you feel compelled, back the game and get a new GBA cartridge in 2022!
