In a lovely announcement from Japan today, Nintendo and CAPCOM showed off the new Monster Hunter Rise Special Edition Switch console, JoyCons, and a new Pro Controller, and they all look absolutely stunning. This is a nice surprise, as I have talked to numerous people here at Nintendo Link about a lack of special edition consoles, and a major missed opportunity on game-themed Pro Controllers. Well, here we are getting both, and I couldn’t be happier with the designs!
As of this writing, these special releases are only confirmed for Japan. I am sure that Nintendo of America or Europe will announce very soon that the Monster Hunter Rise Special Edition Switch console and the Pro Controller will be heading to the west, too, but we will have to wait until that has been confirmed.
One of the nicest parts of the design is that both the JoyCon and the Switch console have printing on their backsides as well, which gives so much more character to these special editions.

There is not a whole lot more to say about the matter. The console and the Pro Controller are planned to release alongside the Monster Hunter Rise game on March 26, 2021. Let’s continue to keep our fingers crossed for a western announcement!
For the time being, the Monster Hunter Rise Special Edition Switch Console will cost ¥38,400 ($370USD), while the Switch Pro Controller costs ¥7,480 ($72USD), and surely both items will be on Play Asia in case these beauties do not release outside Japan. But let’s hope beyond hope that isn’t the case.
Thank you for stopping by Nintendo Link for all of your Monster Hunter Rise news and special edition announcements. What do you think of this console and Pro Controller? How badly do you want them? Let us know in the comments below! Happy gaming, everyone.
