Monster Hunter Rise Has Shipped Over 4 Million Units
Well, that did not take very long. It looks like CAPCOM’s big hunting game is making a strong impression on the Nintendo Switch. CAPCOM has announced today that Monster Hunter Rise has shipped 4 millions units internationally, and they even surprised us with the Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin release date and how it will connect with Monster Hunter Rise.
4 million units is a very strong start for the game on the Switch, and it is bound to do even better over the course of the next month and beyond. That is not even taking into consideration when the game releases on PC in early 2022.
Here is the statement from CAPCOM’s press release:
CAPCOM Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch has shipped 4 million units worldwide.
Further, in addition to Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, a new role-playing game scheduled for release on July 9, 2021 that will feature elements that can link with Monster Hunter Rise, CAPCOM will roll out a wide variety of initiatives targeting increased brand value. These include the series’ first Hollywood film adaptation Monster Hunter, which was released in Japan on March 26, 2021, and range from character merchandising and apparel to collaborations with a diverse field of companies.
CAPCOM Press Release
The new Switch game is excellent and one that I enjoyed very much, so it is encouraging that it is already selling well globally. Hopefully this means that we will be getting more Monster Hunter games on the hybrid console in the future, but knowing CAPCOM and their antics with Monster Hunter, I wouldn’t doubt a Monster Hunter Rise G or something along the lines to release on the Switch in 2022.
