Most Anticipated Switch Releases for March 2021
It is officially March 2021, and a whole lot has happened in the past year. Last March, we saw the release of one of the most successful Switch games yet and our Nintendo Link Game of the Year for 2020, but we also saw the world shut down in many ways due to the coronavirus pandemic. I cannot believe it is actually March as of today, but thankfully the Switch is getting some top-notch games, one in particular, that are going to make this month a lot easier. There are a whole lot of titles to look forward to this month, so we have piled them all together for your convenience. Here are the most anticipated Switch releases for March 2021!

Apex Legends – March 9
This port was a long time coming, and it is finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch on March 9th. Apex Legends is a free-to-play first-person arena shooter that took the world by storm when it originally released. Similar to other games in the genre, Apex Legends boasts a massive roster of characters with unique traits and abilities for you to master.
The Switch does feel like it lacks in shooters compared to the competition, so another competitive battle royale to add to the collection will definitely spice up the gameplay of many players on the system. Get ready to grapple the competition soon!
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – March 12
Crash Bandicoot 4 is crashing its way onto our favorite hybrid console on March 12th, and I couldn’t be more excited! The at-one-time PlayStation mascot is finally bringing us a new game experience that will surely challenge and entertain!
Neo Cortex and N. Tropy are back at it again and launching an all-out assault on not just this universe, but the entire multiverse! Crash and Coco are here to save the day by reuniting the four Quantum Masks and bending the rules of reality.
New abilities? Check. More playable characters? Yep. Alternate dimensions? Obviously. Ridonkulous bosses? For sure. Same awesome sauce? You bet your sweet jorts. Wait, are they actually jorts? Not in this universe!
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning – March 16
The once dead and buried Kingdoms of Amalur is being resurrected and experiencing its Re-Reckoning on March 16th. This genuinely fun RPG had so much potential, but it originally saw a ton of developmental problems that initially collapsed the team behind it and left the game dormant for so long. Now, thanks to THQ Nordic, the game is getting a deserved second chance, and it looks like it will be a stellar experience on the Switch.
Uncover the secrets of Amalur, from the vibrant city of Rathir to the vast region of Dalentarth to the grim dungeons of the Brigand Hall Caverns. Rescue a world torn apart by a vicious war and control the keys to immortality as the first warrior ever to be resurrected from the grips of death.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville – March 19
Plants vs. Zombies is a silly franchise that has made a massive name for itself since its early days on mobile. Battle for Neighborville will be the first of the shooter series to make its way to the Nintendo Switch, and it will be releasing on March 19th, very soon after it was initially announced at the Nintendo Direct last month.

Party with up to three friends and goof around in Giddy Park or dive into some 8v8 multiplayer in Turf Takeover, vanquishing opponents, blasting gnome bombs, bouncing on pink ooze – it’s the most fun you’ll have since sliced bread.
Overcooked! All You Can Eat – March 23
Overcooked! All You Can Eat is going to be the biggest in the series yet, as it boasts cross-platform online multiplayer, and it will continue to bring the zany action that only Overcooked can bring.
Get ready to get together with friends and frantically put together wild meals in the most insane environments. Do you think you have what it takes to keep it all together and finish the task at hand? Or will you panic and drop your buns on the floor?
Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town – March 23
Following Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is another life and farm simulator that will surely bring joy to its fanbase with its super-cute visuals and high accessibility.

Explore the deadly planet of Pandora as Rhys, a company man who aspires to replace the infamous Handsome Jack as the head of the Hyperion corporation, and Fiona, a clever con artist who can talk her way out of almost anything. When a shady deal goes awry, Rhys and Fiona must begrudgingly team up to get their due, running into vicious gangsters, cannibalistic bandits, and terrifying wildlife along the way. How will you choose to guide their actions on this wild ride to Pandoran glory?
Balan Wonderworld – March 26
On the same day, March 26th, the Nintendo Switch is getting two major titles, and the first one we will be talking about is Balan Wonderworld, a wondrous action platformer game themed around the Balan Theatre. Led by the enigmatic maestro named Balan, the stars of the show, Emma and Leo, will use special abilities from a multitude of characterful costumes as they adventure in the bizarre and imaginary land of Wonderworld. Here memories and vistas from the real world mix with the things that people hold dear.
Wonderworld exists in people’s hearts and imagination. The setting for this tale is the fantastic, bizarre land of Wonderworld: a place where people’s happy and positive memories mix with their restless worries and negativity. Leo and Emma are led into Wonderworld by the mysterious clown Balan and set off on a journey to find what is important to them. Before they can return to the real world, they must first restore the lost balance in their heart.
Monster Hunter Rise – March 26
As big of a release as Balan Wonderworld is for Square Enix and the Switch, CAPCOM owns March this year. Monster Hunter Rise, the new entry in the Monster Hunter series, is releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Switch and will be the first original Monster Hunter title on the system. This is going to be the Animal Crossing: New Horizons of 2021, and although it will not be as accessible as New Horizons, Monster Hunter Rise is going to top the video game charts and be a single reason for people to buy a Nintendo Switch. Pre-order sales in Japan and North America alone are already phenomenal, and I am sure press releases upon release will only elevate those sales.
Get ready to hunt solo or alongside friends in this long-running action RPG that pits you against the biggest and scariest monsters in video game history. Will you be ready to rise when Monster Hunter Rise launches on Switch March 26th?
