Heket in Cult of the Lamb can be quite a toughie in this rogue-lite life sim title. As it spits out explosive flies and its own tongue toward the ground, you’ll need to be hyperreactive and follow some crucial strategic moves. Here’s how to beat Heket in Cult of the Lamb.

How To Defeat Heket in Cult of the Lamb

Before you attempt to attack Heket and fight for another day, you should equip a short-ranged weapon. They’re snappy and you can get an attack in before Heket moves on to its next move, which can happen quickly.

The first thing to remember with Heket in Cult of the Lamb is how it bounces from place to place. The reason? When it hits the ground, there will be a large impact in the form of a circle that you’ll need to avoid. While it’s spitting out hovering flies, get in a few strikes, back out by dodging, and repeat. This should be the strategy for the beginning few minutes.

While the smaller flies are hovering, be sure to keep moving around the arena. In a perfect world, you’ll want to direct Heket’s tongue to hit all of the flies that came out of Heket’s mouth. Doing this will eliminate all of the lingering bugs. You’ll also want to beware of the smaller toad-like creatures that are hopping toward you. Eliminate some of them to keep the coast clear.

The tongue once released can cause a lot of damage if it strikes you. However, if you manage to dodge it, you can hit it to lower the monster’s HP. On the other hand, we find attacking the main body as the tongue only lasts for a few seconds.

After you cause some damage to your foe, it will then spit out bigger flies that are explosive. It will push them out directly towards, so try to outrun them with your dodges, maintaining distance between each fly belch. At some point in the battle, it will spit out the explosive flies in a roughly circular fashion. Try to get out of its range by going to the opposite side of the arena.

It’s Not Over Yet For Heket in Cult of the Lamb

Our best advice with Heket is to be patient and strike when it’s opportune like just after he spits out the lingering flies or its tongue.

Towards the end of the battle, Heket will unleash two smaller versions of itself. As they’re faster, try to use projectiles as much as possible during encounters. They will jump often and the impact on the ground will have some nasty AoE (area of effect) factors. Try to split them up as much as possible and get a few cheeky slices of your weapon towards them while not jumping or belching out fiery flies.

After they’re dealt with, you’re at the last section of the fight. It will release a dozen or so tongues towards you, so try to stay close to Heket in Cult of the Lamb. Our main advice is to stay cautious and be patient for the right opening.

As you progress through the game, the action will only get harder. Hopefully, you can avoid a game-breaking bug along the way.
