How To Catch A Squid In Rune Factory 5

There are all manner of fishy creatures that can be found throughout your Rune Factory 5 adventure, and the squid is pretty hard to get. On top of its nutritious bounty, you’ll need one to give to Cecil on one of the task board’s quests. Here’s where to find a catch a squid in Rune Factory 5.

Squid in Rune Factory 5 location

You can find a squid in Rune Factory 5 at the beach that’s south of the Festival Grounds in Rigbirth. Thankfully, you won’t need to take out any surrounding enemies in this area as the town’s protected.

Head down to the shore, at the edge of the water and get your rod out. Even the Cheap Pole will do the trick. Now, try to find bla

ck outlines in the water. This is where the fish preside. Move around your character to get a good sightline for the fish to see the bait. Make sure when you use the cast that it’s ahead of the fish’s trail.

When the fish starts biting, wait for the hook to create a black hole within the water. This is when you should press the B button to reel the hook back towards you and catch the fish.

You’ll find all manner of fish life within the waves of the water, so it might be difficult to find the squid in Rune Factory 5. It’s also unfortunately not squid shaped and looks perculiarly like a fish instead. It’s pretty rare to find, but I managed to catch a squid on my first try.

Once you’ve found a squid of your own, present it to Cecil at his home or at the detective agency. He will be very happy to receive it.

After finishing the quest, go back to the Tasks Board and claim your reward.
