Pokemon GO Festival of Colors Event Announced, Introduces Oricorio

Niantic teased a new Festival of Colors event a couple weeks ago for Pokemon GO, but today they officially announced the event, which includes the debut of Oricorio.

Festival of Colors will take place between Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, at 10am local time to Sunday, March 20th, 2022, at 8pm local time. Global and regional events and bonuses are planned.

Here are the details for Festival of Colors:

  • India Regional Challenge: Trainers in India will be able to work together in a Regional Challenge. Once they catch over 2M Pokémon, all Trainers in India will enjoy a 2x Catch Candy bonus for the remainder of the event.
  • India Regional Event Box: Trainers in India will be able to purchase a celebratory box containing a Lucky Egg, a Lure Module, a Rainy Lure Module and a Mossy Lure Module for 125 PokéCoins.
  • Global Event Bonuses: Trainers worldwide will enjoy the following bonuses:
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Snapshot surprises every day during the event – If Trainers are lucky, they might encounter a Shiny Pokémon.
  • Pokémon Debuts: For the first time in Pokémon GO, Oricorio, the Dancing Pokémon will be appearing in the game and Trainers will encounter different Styles depending on where they are caught in the world:
  • Baile Style Oricorio – Europe, the Middle East, Africa
  • Pom-Pom Style Oricorio – Americas
  • Pa’u Style Oricorio – African, Asian, Pacific and Caribbean islands
  • Sensu Style Oricorio – Asia-Pacific region
  • Collection Challenge: Trainers will receive 20,000 XP, 3,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Oricorio* when they complete the Collection Challenge.
  • Wild Encounters: The following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild:
  • Drowzee, Horsea, Gligar, Slugma, Taillow, Trapinch, Turtwig, Croagunk, Fletchling
  • Baile Style Oricorio, Pom-Pom Style Oricorio, Pa’u Style Oricorio, Sensu Style Oricorio (**Style depending on region)
  • If Trainers are lucky: Beautifly, Dustox, Alomomola*
  • Raids: The following Pokémon will appear in raids and Mega Raids:
  • One-Star: Jigglypuff*, Torchic*, Treecko*, Mudkip*, Rockruff*
  • Three-Star: Marowak, Alolan Marowak*, Chansey*, Umbreon, Druddigon*
  • Five-Star: Therian Forme Tornadus*
  • Mega Raids: Mega Lopunny*.
  • Field Research Task Encounters: The following will be available to encounter when Trainers complete Field Research tasks:
  • Bulbasaur*, Squirtle* Charmander*, Alolan Grimer*
  • Castform*, Sunny Form Castform, Rainy Form Castform*, Snowy Form Castform
  • Plant Cloak Burmy*, Sand Cloak Burmy*, Trash Cloak Burmy*
  • Mega Energy for: Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise
  • If Trainers are lucky: Baile Style Oricorio, Pom-Pom Style Oricorio, Pa’u Style Oricorio, Sensu Style Oricorio (** Style depending on region)
  • New Avatar Items: Trainers can find face sticker avatar items with three different colorways for free in the in-game shop during and after the event:

*If Trainers are lucky, they might encounter a Shiny one.
