N64 Games On Nintendo Switch Getting Bad Reception After Launch
Nintendo 64 games have finally arrived on Nintendo Switch as part of the new Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. This should have been a happy day for fans of the N64, but sadly, this wasn’t the case.
Players are reporting various issues and complaints regarding the service. Many of these complaints have come from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. People aren’t happy with how fog, water textures and draw distances look, with others reports of slowdown and input lag.
This is the same for other games too, though.
Another issue that players are reporting is the fact that Mario Kart 64 requires a controller pak to save time trial data and to race against ghosts. So, ghost trials haven’t been implemented.
Button layouts also appear to be a problem, given the fact that the A and B buttons on the Switch are opposite to those on the N64 controller. You are unable to remap the button layout, unfortunately.
There has been no response from Nintendo regarding these issues – or if any updates will be implemented in the future.
