Indie World Showcase 8.18.2020 – What’s in Store?
A lot of time has passed since the previous Indie World Showcase, and it looks like Nintendo is delivering us some good ol’ indie news in the midst of everything happening in the world. I don’t know about you, but I could use some good and fun news right now, so this indie showcase is exactly what I need!

Announcements
These are the big announcements that came from this Indie World Showcase.
Hades
Supergiant Games announced the roguelike dungeon crawler Hades. You ally with gods to help you get through the underworld.
Hypnospace Outlaw
Crack cases in this No More Robots’ game that sees you finding bizarre ways to learn information. Available August 27th.
Spiritfarer
A game by Thunderlotus. A cozy management game where you help the spirits move from our world to their final destination. Releases later today.
Garden Story
From Picogram and Rose City Games. The time is ripe and there is a community to save in Garden Story as you beautify the world. Release 2021 on the Switch.
Subnautica
Unknown World Entertainment announced that both games in the series are releasing next year on the Switch.
Takeshi and Hiroshi
You play as a young programmer working on a new game with your little brother. It is a cute adventure with a lot of heart and a unique way of playing, and it is from Oink Games of mini-board game fame. Releases today.
Raji: An Ancient Epic
From Nodding Heads Games, help defend the world by protecting it from the evil forces trying to take over. The game includes lore and stories from various Indian and Hindu tales. Comes out later today and is a timed exclusive.
Bear and Breakfast
Turn a dilapidated shack into a nice Air BnB in this game by Armor Games Studios. Comes out next year as a timed exclusive.
A Short Hike
A casual hiking game where you traverse your way up a mountain at your own pace and however way you like. Releasing today.
Card Shark
Nerial and Devolver Digital present a game about cheating at cards and manipulating the game, but don’t get caught. You may find yourself flat on the table.
Torchlight III
Echtra Games and Perfect World is bringing back the Torchlight series, and it looks as good as ever. Pets are even back! Releases this Fall on the Switch.
Manifold Garden
From William Chyr Studio, this abstract puzzle will mess with your mind and have you thinking way outside the box. Releasing later today.
Evergate
Stone Lantern Games and PQube present a fresh platformer where you play as Ki traversing the afterlife. You will use unique platforming methods to help get around, and the good news is that it releases later today.
More Indies
They also quickly showed off a slew of other indies coming out in the next year, including Haven, Going Under, The Red Lantern, Unrailed!, Struggling, INMOST, She Dreams Elsewhere, Grindstone, and Gonner 2.
Untitled Goose Game Update!
They closed the presentation with a free 2-player update coming soon to Untitled Goose Game! On top of this update, the game will also receive a physical edition.
