Is Fire Emblem Engage Open World?
Fire Emblem Engage is the next big JRPG to release from Nintendo, but is it going to be a huge step in the franchise? Having Fire Emblem Engage open world would certainly be a massive move forward but is this the case in the strategy RPG? Find out below.
Can You Explore A Fire Emblem Engage Open World?
Most Fire Emblem entries rush you through an adventure of great proportions with an even grander story to be told. A Fire Emblem Engage open-world feature would make sense, but for this title in the series, that will not be the case. If there was a Fire Emblem Engage open world, that would be a massive marketing point from Nintendo about this game, but alas, we’ve seen nothing about that sought-after feature. If we hear anything different, we’ll update this guide.
There is a main hub you can explore, however. Similar to prior entries like Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes and Fire Emblem: Three Houses, you’ll be able to buy resources, weapons, and armour to help develop your characters. You’ll also likely be partaking in activities that will help you grow your friendship level with each playable character.
Other Open World Titles To Consider
While a Fire Emblem Engage open world is not going to be a factor, there are other games on the Nintendo Switch that do have the feature. Unfortunately, there won’t be a demo for Fire Emblem Engage either.
There are a few obvious picks. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has an amazing, beautiful world to explore as the environment itself becomes a challenge that Link must grapple against. There’s also The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which runs surprisingly well on the lower-powered Nintendo Switch. It has an epic, mature story alongside its thrilling combat. You can’t go wrong with either title.
If you prefer turn-based RPGs, however, Atelier Ryza 3 might be good to look out for. It will be fully open world and has a stunning anime aesthetic somewhat similar to Fire Emblem Engage. As the title suggests, you’re creating items through crafting and then using them in battle, creating an entertaining hook (at least in prior games in the series).
