Is Warframe Crossplay?
The multiplayer phenomenon Warframe has been with us for many years as it continues to be updated with new content. However, can you play Warframe crossplay with other players on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation? We answer that here.
Can You Play Warframe Crossplay?
As of December 2022, Warframe is now compatible with crossplay. This means that Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players can all play together in one group. It’s been a long-requested feature, but it’s now available in this free-to-play multiplayer shooter.
Warframe crossplay will hopefully make the game more accessible for newer players, who want to squad up with their friends. You can now squad up in missions through matchmaking or by joining a friend’s group. Chat is also enabled throughout all versions of the game.
To enable cross-play functionality, head over to the “Options” menu, go to “System,” and then select the tick on “Cross Platform Play.”
Digital Extremes, however, warns players to enter a dojo first and then invite squad members. Otherwise, the Warframe crossplay functionality may not work.
Is Warframe Cross Save Compatible?
At the time of writing, you cannot transfer your saves between the Nintendo Switch and another system like the PC and PS5, but this functionality is coming in the future. “Cross-Platform Save will be added at a later date once the full suite of Cross-Platform Play features have been established,” said Digital Extremes in its official Q&A. “Please stay tuned for more information about Cross Platform Save in the future.”
Warframe is one of the best third-person shooter experiences on the Nintendo Switch. If you’re looking for more shooters on the console, you can check out the Doom series, Overwatch 2, and Paladins. The latter two are cross-play compatible as well with other systems.
