Chaos Code New Sign of Catastrophe to Receive Physical Release on Switch, Pre-Orders Open October 20
Play-Asia and H2 Interactive have confirmed that a physical release of the Japanese arcade anime fighting game, Chaos Code New Sign of Catastrophe, will be available for pre-order starting on October 20, 2022, with delivery expected for December.
The game is currently for digital download on the Nintendo eShop, but now players will have the option to choose between one of two physical versions as well.

Chaos Code New Sign of Catastrophe is a 2017 arcade fighting game by Arc System Works originally for Microsoft Windows on PC. Fans can now play it on Nintendo Switch, and soon, have access to one of two physical editions for the game to collect: the standard version or the limited edition.
While the standard release will be unlimited, there will be only a total of 3,000 limited editions made available, which will also include a variety of unique extras and accessories. These include a collector’s box, a special soundtrack for the game, an acrylic standee, a minicase keychain, an art card set, and numbered certificate.
The story reads as follows:
Human Civilization has reached its apex, and begins its expansion into outer space. The scientist Arthur Tesla has finished the development of Chaotics, a new type of energy that defies all current understanding. Then, just as Chaotics came to be the world’s chief energy source, Professor Tesla suddenly disappears.
All he leaves behind are the mysterious words…”Chaos Code.”
Assumed to be somehow related to Chaotics, the Earth-Union government offers a massive cash prize for any discoveries that would unravel the mystery of those words. With the appearance of not just prize-seekers, but those who seek to control Chaotics, those who wish to topple the government, and the violently confused, the fight for the “Chaos Code” begins!
Players can choose from a robust assortment of 16 unique characters, ranging from government agents to ninjas to magical girls, and even a manga artist! Each one comes with its own special attack, movement styles, and color options, and players can choose from one of 6 battle modes, including Arcade, Versus, and Mission Mode!
Arcade Mode allows you to progress the main story with each individual character; VS Mode is what it sounds like; Survival Mode lets you fight one battle after the other with only one health bar; Practice Mode lets you set your own battle parameters to learn characters’ moves; Mission Mode lets you take on a variety of missions; and in Score Attack Modem compete against other fighters to earn the highest score!
There is also “Collection Mode” where you can view all unlocked CGs and movies as much as you’d like, using Chaos Coins earned from battle!
Chaos Code New Sign of Catastrophe on will be available for pre-order on Switch starting on October 20 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM in the UK / 5 PM in Europe.
