Pokemon GO Introduces a New Raid Type: the Elite Raid!
Niantic is on a roll with their announcements lately for Pokemon GO, and now we even have a new raid type to join the fray: the Elite Raid! Mysterious Raid Eggs with 24-hour timers have begun appearing around the world, so what does this mean? Apparently Hoopa Unbound will be appearing in a new type of raid known as the Elite Raid, which is cool, as raids in Pokemon GO have been quite repetitive lately, especially Legendary and Mega Raids.
The new Elite Raid will help to mix things up for players looking for a challenge!
What is an Elite Raid in Pokemon GO?
- Elite Raids are a new, challenging variety of Raid Battles. They appear from special Raid Eggs that take 24 hours to hatch. Once the Raid Egg has hatched, a Raid Boss appears for 30 minutes—but take note that Elite Raid Bosses can only be battled in-person. Gather up your friends and prepare for an epic confrontation!
- Defeat Hoopa Unbound, and you’ll earn an opportunity to catch it.
- Remember, Trainers will not be able to participate in Elite Raids using Remote Raid Passes.
Please note that the first of these raids will begin at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m. local time on October 16th, 2022, depending on when their Raid Eggs appear.
Hoopa Unbound may be the first one, but Niantic has also confirmed that more Elite Raids are on the way. Stay tuned for more!
