Switch Update 15.0.0 Adds Easier Way to Share Screenshots, Pro Controller Update, and More
Nintendo dropped the newest Switch update, version 15.0.0, yesterday, and it has added a lot of fun little features for your convenience. Even though 15.0.0 sounds like a huge update, this one is a bit more minor, but it does add some much desired additions to the Switch experience.
The main takeaway is that you can now take screenshots within the Nintendo Switch Online application, but unfortunately, video capture is not supported. Another change is that Nintendo has moved the location of where the Bluetooth Audio menu is located.
Patch Notes for Switch Update 15.0.0
- The location of the Bluetooth Audio menu within System Settings has moved.
- Screenshots can be taken using the Capture Button while in the Nintendo Switch Online application found on the Nintendo Switch Home Menu.
- Video capture is not supported.
-  General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.
Pro Controller Also Receives Update
Nintendo has surprisingly updated the Pro Controller as part of the Switch update 15.0.0, and people on social media have dug up what is included in the new controller update.
You can update your Pro Controller by visiting system settings, and then scrolling down to the Controller and Sensors tab and choose the Update Controllers option. The process is quick, and this is also how you update your JoyCons if you have not done that in a while.
It appears that the handling for Ethernet adapters was moved to its own dedicated OS module, various error messages were added/changed, a pop-up was added for attempting to exceed the max headphone volume while the limiter is on, bad words for Mainland China were added, the time zone database was updated to the latest from ICANN, and text related to Australian and New Zealand privacy laws was added as part of the controller update.
Nothing super-important, but quality improvements nonetheless.
Earlier this year, Nintendo launched Switch Update 14.0.0, which added Groups, a similar feature to folders. What do we think 16.0.0 will bring us?
