Splatoon 3 Best Shooters on Switch

The Nintendo Switch doesn’t get the latest Call of Duty or Battlefield games, but it still carries some of the best shooting experiences in gaming. From the co-op antics of Borderlands 2 to the strategy of Overwatch 2, here are some of the best shooters on Switch.

Bulletstorm

Do you like to play creatively with shooters like getting a 360 no scope on an enemy far away? Well, Bulletstorm might be for you. This game rewards your creativity as you brutally kill your foes by kicking them into cactuses and blowing them up with explosives. The story is fittingly dumb as you blast through your foes and have fun while doing it. It even scores your creativity like a round of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 hasn’t aged the best, but it is still an excellent third-person shooter. The atmosphere of the village will keep you entranced in Leon’s horror surroundings, and there are many standout combat scenarios that will keep you on your toes. It’s a classic for a reason, and you should check out Resident Evil 4 on Switch if you see it on sale. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch won’t be getting the remake next year, so this is the next best thing.

Rogue Company

The Nintendo Switch lacks third-person shooters so it’s a blessing that Rogue Company exists on the platform. The controls feel fluid and the ability to roll out of the way from fire reminds us of the Uncharted series. Every character has their own abilities to offer to the game, and as you earn money from every kill you perform in Rogue Company, you can upgrade your guns and equipment like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This is one of the best shooters on Switch, and it’s free as well.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

It can be exhilarating to play a first-person shooter when you see a bunch of enemies and you tear through them with a fast velocity of bullets. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus brings that energy into an intriguing alternate universe where the Nazis have won, and you’re trying to take back the world from their grasp. Each gun feels powerful, and you’ll require some strategy to take out all of the foes in front of you.

Doom

Just like Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Doom is an intense first-person shooter that will bring out your natural instincts. The weapons are even more volatile with a powerful shotgun, electrify foes with the Lightning Gun, and all manner of ways to break down your demonic foes. It’s so intense that Doomguy breaks the aliens’ bodies to get his health back. Mick Gordon’s heavy metal music for Doom is incredible as you bang your head back and forth while taking out demons. It’s one of the best shooters on Switch because of how action-packed Doom is.

BioShock

We don’t often get a first-person shooter with deep lore and an intriguing story, but BioShock is certainly one of them. This horror game takes you through a dystopian underwater city named Rapture. As you’re exploring the area filled with demented people and big deadly robots called Big Daddies, you’ll begin to find out what exactly happened to Rapture and who is behind the mess. You can also use Plasmids, which give you the power to throw a fireball or electrify your enemies. BioShock is an enthralling experience we recommend you try and is one of the best shooters on Switch

Fortnite

Fortnite is one of the most popular games in the world and for good reason. This third-person shooter has fluid controls, looks crisp on the Nintendo Switch, and constantly has new events that delight its audience every month. Battle royales are dime a dozen these days, but Fortnite‘s weapons feel satisfying to control, and the thrill of surviving until the very end never gets old, especially if you play with friends.

Another neat thing is that Fortnite supports crossplay, so you can play with your pals on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and even mobile systems. It’s one of the most accessible games out there and is one of the best shooters on Switch.

Overwatch 2

The newest entry on this list Overwatch 2 is one of the best shooters on Switch bar none. Each character has their own abilities and playstyle to offer, and somehow they all mesh into the game perfectly. Tracer can rewind time and shoot with her pistol rifles to get eliminations, while Mei freezes her opponents in place with an ice gun. There’s a lot to love about Overwatch 2, and this new entry in the series includes crossplay so you can play it wherever, whenever. With a shift to free-to-play, however, the micro-transaction system may put some people off.

Borderlands 2

Like looting weapons and laughing out loud? Borderlands 2 might be the ticket for you. With up to four-player co-op, this game presents all manner of weapons randomly generated for your character. There are some great boss battles spruced within, and the script is hilarious with all manner of over-the-top jokes by antagonist Handsome Jack. Not many games on the Nintendo Switch have full online co-op in a campaign that lasts over 40-50 hours, depending on your play style. Taking Borderlands 2 on the go sounds like an amazing weekend.

Splatoon 3 Is One of The Best Shooters On Switch

Last but certainly one of the best shooters on Switch is Splatoon 3. This family-friendly take on the genre has you painting each arena, trying to get as much ink on the ground as possible. The one who wins has the most ground covered at the end of the match. The concept is simple, but with so many creative weapons like the Splat Roller, Splatoon 3 becomes a nuanced game.

The maps also vary in vertical and horizontal segments, creating an engaging environment for veteran Splatlings to adapt. The art design of Splatoon 3 is also incredible with adorable expressions, immaculate world design, and many varieties of clothes to purchase from the store. Splatoon 3 shows that graphics quality isn’t the be-all and tell-all when it comes to making engaging shooters.
