Nightmare Reaper Coming to Switch in December 2022
Publisher Feardemic has confirmed that they are working with developer Blazing Bit Games to release its horror-FPS Nightmare Reaper for Nintendo Switch sometime in December 2022.
What is Nightmare Reaper?
Nightmare Reaper is a retro-inspired first-person shooter with looter shooter and rogue-lite elements developed by Blazing Bit Games and published by Feardemic. It was released on PC via Steam on March 28, 2022, and Feardemic confirmed in a recent press release that the game would be coming to Switch sometime in December 2022.
Nightmare Reaper is a dark and violent FPS that manages to blend aspects of both retro and modern action games and is inspired by the classic 2.5D first-person shooters of the 90s with elements of modern looter shooters and rogue-lites.
As the official description reads:
Progress through the cursed depths of a nightmare while finding an arsenal of powerful weapons and improving your abilities along the way. This retro-inspired FPS with looter shooter and rogue-lite elements breaches the wall between classic and modern gameplay.
The game features intense and addictive gameplay that pits players against hordes of enemies crammed in open-ended levels with surprises and geysers of blood and treasure… mostly blood.
Players can use the gold they find to purchase many character upgrades and new abilities via minigames, and with over 80 unique weapons that can drop as loot, there’s no shortage of ways to take enemies down. There are also over 30 enchantment types to play with.
Other notable key features include music and audio by composer Andrew Hulshult, a non-intrusive but mysterious story, a variety of different game modes, a mix of manual and random level generation, and several random events and secrets.
