Should Nintendo and LEGO Make LEGO Wario, LEGO Waluigi, and LEGO Daisy?

Earlier this year, Nintendo and LEGO announced on Mario Day (March 10, MAR10) that LEGO Peach is on the way! Now that the princess is on store shelves and being played with by my children, I began to wonder what other characters would make for excellent LEGO characters in the same vein as LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi, and LEGO Peach, and I think it goes without saying that the hilarious trio of LEGO Wario, LEGO Waluigi, and LEGO Daisy would make for perfect additions to the current lineup.

As it stands now, the LEGO Super Mario series includes a lot of fun and interesting gimmicks and ideas, and with the LEGO characters being able to update and add new features post release, creating new scenarios for the current three as new ones enter the fray would be an absolute riot, especially if those new additions included the likes of LEGO Wario, LEGO Waluigi, and LEGO Daisy. Let’s start with Wario!

LEGO Wario

Earlier this year, YouTuber Bennie Bricks designed a LEGO Wario starter course, and it is surprisingly well-made. The Youtuber goes into detail about how Nintendo and LEGO can create a new world of sorts where Wario Land is implemented, meaning coins and treasures become more important than just simply a number.

Check out his video:

Since Wario is such a unique character in the Super Mario universe with a decent amount of solo material to play with, I think LEGO Wario should absolutely be the next addition to the LEGO Super Mario lineup.

He could serve not only as his own unique LEGO gameplay, but he could also become a fun and more interactive villain in the LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi, and LEGO Peach courses. Currently, the only villains in the LEGO Super Mario lineup are ones where you just simply stomp on the barcode until they are defeated. However, if someone like LEGO Wario is entered in, his ability to interact with other LEGO characters in a more electronic and communicative way could create some interesting and laughable scenarios.

I don’t know about you, but I need this. It would make the interactive LEGO Super Mario experience even greater!

LEGO Waluigi

Also earlier this year, YouTuber Bennie Bricks designed a LEGO Waluigi Starter course, and it is compelling as well. Unfortunately for Waluigi, he does not have a lot of background outside of the sports and party games, so it may be a bit more difficult to implement LEGO Waluigi into the lineup than LEGO Wario.

Check out this video:

Waluigi is, for whatever reason, one of the most beloved characters in the Super Mario universe, which means making a LEGO Waluigi would satisfy a large, niche group of Super Mario fans.

Unfortunately, though, Waluigi does not offer a whole lot to the current LEGO Super Mario lineup, as Waluigi does not have any games with unique gameplay or elements that could introduce something new and fresh into the LEGO world. Since Waluigi is mostly associated with sports games, maybe bringing in some kind of tennis or soccer idea into the LEGO Super Mario system could work.

Similar to the LEGO Wario idea, having a more interactive villain like LEGO Waluigi would just be hilarious. Combining the “evil” of LEGO Wario and LEGO Waluigi at the same time would be even better. Just imagining the banter between the two is cracking me up right now, so even though a LEGO Waluigi does not make a whole lot of sense, we need to laugh more and LEGO Waluigi will absolutely make that happen.

LEGO Daisy

Finally, and I swear I am not being paid to plug Bennie Bricks, we have LEGO Daisy! Although his designs for LEGO Daisy are limited in the video due to his thoughts that LEGO Daisy is actually happening, it is still incredibly designed and shows off some other cool ideas that he has for the LEGO Super Mario universe.

Check out this last video:

LEGO Daisy simply makes the most sense of the three pitches in this article. Since we already have LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi, and LEGO Peach, we are missing one more major female character to round things up, and outside of Pauline, there is no better option than Daisy!

Daisy similarly to Waluigi does not have her own unique gameplay elements or gimmicks, as she has never starred in her own featured game. However, Daisy is from Super Mario Land on the Game Boy, which is a game that could be brought in with LEGO Daisy. For example, underwater areas or flying areas could bring in a submarine or an airplane for any of the LEGO characters to ride and shoot. Hearing the Super Mario Land music would also be an incredible addition to the current lineup and would help to bring more life and substance to the LEGO Super Mario universe.

Not only that, but similar to LEGO Wario and LEGO Waluigi, hearing LEGO Daisy’s potential interactions with LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi, and LEGO Peach would be awesome! Daisy’s more intense personality would be a lovely change up to the current three, and I think LEGO Daisy absolutely deserves her own set.

I just want to thank Benny Bricks for some excellent videos that helped compliment this article, and I hope that Nintendo and LEGO consider these three options and ultimately deliver on all of them. LEGO Wario and LEGO Waluigi may be stretches, but LEGO Daisy needs to happen. Get it done, Nintendo and LEGO! The balls in your court.
