Pokémon UNITE Teases Rayquaza and New Stage
A brand new arena map is set to arrive in Pokémon UNITE next month – the Theia Sky Ruins! Players will be able to visit this ancient island and experience and take new Ranked and Standard battles on September 2, 2022!

Pokémon UNITE officially gave the first look at the new Theia Sky Ruins map during the Pokémon World Championships’ opening ceremony, sharing the full trailer later for those who could not attend. These mystical ruins are situated high up in the sky in a cloudy valley and dotted with ancient landmarks and new enemy Pokémon for players to tackle! Most notably, however, the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza resides in the center, awaiting new challengers!
The new trailer provides a first look at the iconic Legendary creature, who first debuted in 2002’s Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and served as the mascot of the Pokémon Emerald game.
While no details on the map itself or how Rayquaza will interact with players have been officially revealed, a recent leak provides some possible insight. Apparently, Rayquaza will affect the surrounding environment when in battle by changing the airflow, and once defeated, players will receive a speed boost and shield that will make scores unblockable for a short time.
