Oddworld Soulstorm Getting New “Oddtimized” Edition for the Switch
Publisher Microids has confirmed that the popular space platformer Oddworld: Soulstorm will be coming to the Nintendo Switch as the Oddworld: Soulstorm Oddtimized Edition, which is currently available for pre-order. No release date has been announced, but Microids insists fans should expect an update “soon.”

The physical “Limited Oddition”, which contains a metal case with 24 cartridge slots and 3 art prints, will also be released and is available to pre-order separately, as well as the Collector’s Oddition that contains plenty of goodies like a Unique Collector’s Box and art book, etc.
The official announcement reads:
“Oddworld: Soulstorm, the award-winning sequel to the best-selling Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, is an explosive action-adventure epic platformer. Optimized for Nintendo Switch to take advantage of the platform’s unique features, this version features the same amazing Soulstorm gameplay currently found on the other platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store), with a delightful Switch flavor!”
Oddworld Soulstorm sees you take on the role of Abe as he embarks on a hero’s journey to save more than 1,000 Mudokons from oppression. The game brings a fresh perspective to platforming with the inclusion of RPG-lite elements and the ability to exchange resources at vending machines to get products. The player has full agency to explore thr story however they like, and craft tools and weapons to use against opposing forces or arm their followers.
With 15 hours of gameplay and dozens more for achievement hunters, Soulstorm offers an enriching experience and dark storyline with a twisted sense of humor that “shines a light on the ironies that exist in the human condition”.
It also features 15 levels with two additional unlockable levels at the end and four potential endings, each depending on your Quarma, a score you receive at the end of each level based on the number of Mudokons you save. If you succeed in saving enough, you’ll get one of the good endings, but if you don’t… well, one can venture to guess.
