RoboCop: Rogue City Announced for Switch

RoboCop Rogue City Trailer Shot

Terminator: Resistance developer Teyon and publisher Nacon have officially revealed a brand new gameplay trailer for RoboCop: Rogue City, their upcoming FPS based on the iconic 1987 film. The game is slated for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S in June 2023, and the new gameplay trailer by Nacon was the second of two trailers of the game, the other being a teaser released about a year ago.

Set around the same time period as the events of the original film, the world of RoboCop: Rogue City will drop players into the violent crime world of Detroit, Michigan. RoboCop will need to contend with bank robberies, hostage situations, and gang violence, as his nemesis ED-209 in a new FPS-style adventure. Whether the game will be open-world is currently unclear.

“We’re delighted to be teaming up with MGM to offer a new vision of a popular franchise that was created over 30 years ago. This game is the perfect fit to pursue our aim of offering different gaming experiences to the widest possible audience,” said NAcon CEO Alain Falc.

Actor Peter Weller is set to return to voice RoboCop, and the game will combine first-person shooter gameplay with an exploration of the streets of Detroit and multiple-choice dialogue.
