Five Exciting July 2022 Nintendo Switch Games To Watch Out For
The July 2022 Nintendo Switch game lineup is upon us and what comes with it are some neat niche games to look forward to. With the JRPG epic Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and the long-awaited Digimon Survive in July, fans of Japanese games will be happy.
Azure Striker Gunvolt 3
First up is Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, which is zooming towards Nintendo Switch systems on July 28. The Megaman-inspired title takes retro-style graphics and brings forth a speedy platformer that requires your utmost attention. You’ll be blasting and using lightning as Gunvolt and slashing back projectiles as the sword wielder Kirin. Like the series it is inspired by, you should prepare yourself for some tough boss fights too. This will also be the first game in the series to have English voice acting.
Digimon Survive
It’s been a long time coming, but the strategy RPG Digimon Strive is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch on July 29. The once childhood series will now be more mature in nature with high-stakes decisions and darker themes throughout the story. The group of teenagers in the narrative will have to survive in a new environment in the digital world, and some may not make it out. While you’re exploring the environments, there will be strategy RPG battles with over 100 Digimon. Let’s hope the long delay was worth it for this July 2022 Nintendo Switch release.
Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series
A face of the platforming genre is returning to the present day with Klonoa: Fantasy Reverie Series on the Nintendo Switch. We can expect to see the cute mascot on July 8. The package includes two remastered games: Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. Both include two player co-op and will have charming graphics that you’d expect from cute platformers like these. Those who haven’t played platformers in the past might be happy to know there is an adjustable difficulty level, so anyone can get into the Klonoa series for the first time. We can’t wait to explore its colourful, remastered world. This is the cutest July 2022 Nintendo Switch game, in our opinion.
Live a Live is a JRPG classic we never got, now it’s a July 2022 Nintendo Switch game
A classic JRPG that never made it to Western territories, Live a Live, will finally be available around the world on July 22 in the form of a remake. Taking the same graphical 2D-HD art style from Octopath Traveler and the upcoming Dragon Quest III remake, Live a Live tells the story of seven different protagonists who each have their own journey to experience across alternate eras of history. The premise is interesting, and it will be great to discover this for the first time. Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV composer Yoko Shimomura will also be remastering the soundtrack.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
The next chapter in the Xenoblade Chronicles saga is coming way sooner than expected as the JRPG is now scheduled to release on July 29. It was pushed up from its original September date, which is odd, as we expect a game like this to have hundreds of hours of content. Connecting the futures of both games in the series so far, we’ll be playing as Noah and Mio within a wartorn world between Keves and Agnus. Nintendo says that “life” will be the game’s central theme, possibly leading to a darker storyline than in the past two games. This is likely one of the most anticipated July 2022 Nintendo Switch games.
