You’ll be able to start customizing your characters’ appearances after finishing the tutorial when the time skip occurs. After the first cutscene of Chapter 4, you’ll arrive at a new, bigger camp than the last few. Once you awake, you’ll be in a tent of your own. On the left, you’ll find a Journal that can be interacted with. It’s on a desk with a candle flickering its flame.

Press the A button to boot up the Journal and select “Change Appearance,” the first option. From here, you can alter the appearance of every ally. Selecting “All Units” will change the costume set for every character. You can make them all wear their Academy clothes at the same time.

With every character, you can also specify the outfit to match the class they’re in. Press the ZR button to get to the “Battle Appearance” option. You can attach the Standard-Issue, Unique, or Class-Based costumes.

For example, Bernadetta wears a purple skirt and yellow adorned wear in her Standard-Issue setup, while her class-based suit looks more protective with brown shoulder pads and armor pieces around her wrists and knees.

We’re guessing you’ll be able to unlock more costumes as you progress in the story of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
