Kao the Kangaroo – All The Dark Forest Collectibles Locations

Kao the Kangaroo has well-placed collectibles throughout the game, and The Dark Forest level is no question. From below and above, here are where to find all of The Dark Forest collectibles. Thankfully, we have not included runes as they’re easy to spot on the main set path that you’ll be taking throughout The Dark Forest.

KAO

The letter K is found in the same area where you first fight the frogsters, the enemies with the goggle glasses. When you defeat them all, go on top of the building on the left side and you’ll find a yellow and blue cloth trampoline. Keep following the path to the edge of the area to find the K.

Once you see the large stage in front of you with performing frogsters, turn left. You’ll see another one of those bouncing blue and yellow cloth platforms. Jump on it and the path will directly take you to the A. It’s one of the easiest to find The Dark Forest collectibles in Kao the Kangaroo.

In a latter section of the level, you’ll see an incomplete purple bridge in the air and a tentacle trying to slap you from the right side. Keep going forward and bump your head on the switch to open the door. Cross the brief pool of water and then turn left. Follow the path upwards until you find an area with a wooden section and two mushroom buttons. This is a nice change of pace in your The Dark Forest collectibles hunt.

Hit the one on the right with your head, and then a timer will begin. As fast as you can, leap onto the platforms ahead and hit the next button to make a piece of the wooden section open up. Inside will be the final letter O.

Scroll Locations in The Dark Forest collectibles list

Near the beginning of the level, you will be climbing on metaphysical purple platforms that appear once you throw your boomerang at a purple crystal. In the second section, stop at the lanterns and then look below. You’ll find a scroll on the bottom right. It’s hard to spot in original run-throughs on this level as the conversation between Kao and the dark being within the gloves is distracting.

After defeating the band on their big stage, you’ll find a trail behind you on the right-hand side. Go follow it up and you’ll find volatile fish swinging on ropes. Jump on the wooden plank platforms at the right time and then at the end of the path, you’ll find the first scroll. Bust up the chest as well to get a large number of Ducats.
