5 Characters We Want To See In Disney Speedstorm
Disney Speedstorm, the next kart racer that hopes to distract you from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, will be releasing sometime this summer. So far, we have Sully from Monsters, Inc to the big cheese himself Mickey Mouse, and more characters will likely appear after the release of Disney Speedstorm.
Here are the characters we hope to see in the roster when it releases and beyond!
Goofy
You can’t have Mickey and Donald without Goofy. The dog-like creature is one of the most classic characters in Disney’s library. He can bring his clumsy personality to the game and famous yell as he speeds down each track. There are many costume options for him as well from his classic look to his multiple Kingdom Hearts attires throughout the years.
Maybe he could have his 90s look from A Goofy Movie. The deep history of the character’s outfits and cartoon references make him perfect for the free-to-play model of Disney Speedstorm.
Kronk
Disney Speedstorm has so far represented the more mainstream characters from the company’s past, but we’d love to see some cult favorites among the fanbase as well. Kronk is a slapstick-friendly character that brings the laughs in The Emperor’s New Groove and could bring the same energy to Disney Speedstorm.
His kart would look awesome as it could be inspired by Incan designs, and his special could revolve around throwing spinach puffs at his rivals. A new stage based on the Incan landscape would be neat as well. Squeakety squeaken squeak squeak.
Rapunzel
The Princess of the Corona Kingdom, Rapunzel would fit right into the mix for Disney Speedstorm. She’s a popular Disney character who could use her long blonde hair and signature pan to take out other racers on the track. Of all the Disney Princesses, she has the most personality with plenty of excitement and spunk that is needed for a kart racer like this.
She can also bring in some barrels into the mix like her appearance in Kingdom Hearts III. We’d also love to see a forested track based on the colorful, yet unfortunately named, world with cars racing around her stunning tower.
Sora
Someone we hope makes an appearance in Disney Speedstorm is Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series (remember, don’t buy the Switch port). He is a Disney character through and through, and he’d be an amazing choice for the kart racer. He can use a spell like Thunder or Fire as a special ability, and he’d bring his upbeat personality to the racer.
We could even see a stage based on Twilight Town or Traverse Town in the game. As a hero of the keyblade, we’d love to see him take a break in Speedstorm before his next chapter.
Venellope von Schweetz
The person that makes the most sense for Disney Speedstorm is Venellope von Schweetz from Wreck-It-Ralph, as she’s actually from a kart racing game herself. As a lead character in the film and an unofficial Disney princess, Venellope would be perfect as she has a vibrant personality and an adorable character design.
We need more female characters in the game, and leaving out Venellope, who perfectly fits this racing genre, would be a huge miss. We’re surprised she’s not been announced already.
Who do you hope to see in Disney Speedstorm? Did we leave anyone out? Maybe we could have included Mirabel, or the Genie, or maybe even Flik? Or will you just be playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe‘s new tracks and skip Disney Speedstorm completely? Let us know in the comments below.
Disney Speedstorm will be released on the Nintendo Switch among other consoles sometime this summer.
