Knockout City Said to be Going Free-to-Play, No Longer Published By EA

Knockout City launched on the Nintendo Switch last year for $19.99, or $29.99 for the deluxe edition but it’s said to be soon becoming free-to-play to all. Not only that, but Velan Studios will be self-publishing the title instead of EA.

Here’s the trailer:

Velan Studios had this to say regarding going self-publishing:

“as we switch to free-to-play, the natural next step is for us to take over publishing responsibilities and work even more closely with our community. We have exciting plans for Knockout City, and bringing publishing in-house will allow us to fully realize our vision for the long-term future of this game.”

Knockout City will continue with its ”seasons” with the upcoming Season 5 which ”will be a celebration of the best that Year 1 of Knockout City had to offer, brining back the superpowers!, Chain Reaction, Basketbrawl, and more.”

Knockout City is said to be going free-to-play coinciding with Season 6 this Spring.
