Five March 2022 Nintendo Switch Games To Watch Out For

February 2022 Switch Games

Kirby finally takes his first steps into 3D, while the major JRPG Triangle Strategy releases for the March 2022 Nintendo Switch games lineup. From kart racing to an in-depth strategy RPG experience, there should be something for everyone this month. Let’s jump in, kupo!

Chocobo GP

Chocobo GP proves that the Final Fantasy series can work with any genre, or at least we hope it does when it releases on March 10. We’ll be zooming around in this kart racer throughout popular Final Fantasy series locations. And you may recognize some of the characters too, including Final Fantasy IX‘s Vivi and Steiner, as well as Final Fantasy VI‘s Terra. For those who are unsure about buying this at full price, there will be a free-to-play option.

In addition, Cloud and Squall (Leon) will be included in the first season pass for Chocobo GP as paid DLC.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

The pink puffball Kirby has a long history on Nintendo consoles, but somehow he’s never made his way into a 3D platformer…until now. When Kirby and the Forgotten Land releases on March 25, this game will have you copying the enemies’ attacks by sucking them up. You can even take on the abilities of a car and a vending machine.

Plenty of creativity has already been shown through the game’s trailers, and we can’t wait to play this new title in the long-established Kirby series.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Not exactly the Persona 4 we want, but we’ll take Persona 4 Arena Ultimax anyway, a fighting game entry in the series. Developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear Strive, Dragon Ball FighterZ), this game is an awesome take on the well-loved game series. Each character’s moves fit their personalities and the action is exciting with the inclusion of their personas in the mix.

This comes with online play (unfortunately not rollback) and a story mode, in addition to the modes you’d expect from any modern fighting game. It will release for the Nintendo Switch on March 16.

Rune Factory 5

A new entry in this fan favorite farming JRPG series, Rune Factory 5 is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch. As an exclusive for the hybrid system, you’ll be facing off against monsters in dungeons and then peacefully planting fruits in a field afterwards. You’ll also meet a cast of characters in the village, and Rune Factory 5 includes romantic relationships that can evolve to marriage and even children.

This much-anticipated title by fans of the genre will be released on March 22. There are multiple physical editions you can buy for Rune Factory 5, too.

Triangle Strategy is likely one of the most anticipated March 2022 Nintendo Switch Games

Lastly is Triangle Strategy, the spiritual sequel to Octopath Traveler on the Switch. The new JRPG continues on the successful HD-2D look, which brings back sprites within a revitalized landscape. This takes more of a strategy RPG angle as you move characters across a horizontal and vertical board. Your story decisions will also matter as the narrative unfolds.

“The allies and decisions you make can determine the fate of whole nations and the continent of Norzelia itself,” an Amazon store listing for the game says. It will launch in physical and digital store shelves on March 4.

Honorable Mentions
