Super Mario RPG 2 Could Happen If Director Gets His Way

Chihiro Fujioka, the director of Super Mario RPG, appears to have expressed his interest in wanted to make Super Mario RPG 2 a reality.

Having worked on many titles including Mario & Luigi at his co-founded studio, AlphaDream, it would be great for him to continue on this sought after RPG.

Fujioka was asked about developing Super Mario RPG 2 in a recent interview. This is what he shared:

“Yeah, I would absolutely love to make one… in my career I’ve been involved with a lot of games, and I would really like my final one to be another Mario RPG game if possible.”

“I think Mario & Luigi is cool, but I would like to go back and create a Mario RPG where you’re only controlling Mario.”

He was also asked if he has any ideas for the sequel to which he simply stated ”that is a secret.”
