Whether it’s some Ring Fit Adventure or Just Dance, the hybrid console has a bunch of games available for you to lose some weight. We here at Nintendo Link wanted to make it easier for your to decide which one (or more) is best for you!
So here are the Best Fitness Games currently on the Nintendo Switch:
Fitness Boxing 2
Released in 2020, Fitness Boxing 2 mixes some fresh moves from the sport with contemporary songs that will keep your heart going fast. Some of the tracklist includes: “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf, and “Bang Bang” from Jessie J., Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj. While instrumental, these songs are familiar to a lot of households and will encourage you to lose weight.
As you complete great boxing-centric workouts, you’ll earn currency to unlock new clothes for the non-playable trainers who guide you on your journey, giving you a little incentive. It was one of the best selling games of 2021 for the Nintendo eShop for a reason, so why not give it a try?
Just Dance 2022
The latest Just Dance has successfully created a great setlist of tracks that anyone would enjoy. From great uplifting tracks like “POP/STARS” from K/DA and “Level Up” by Ciara to catchy pop songs such as Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” and “Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels” by Todrick Hall, there’s a lot of tracks to dance to for your fitness goals.
There’s even a fitness mode that tracks how many calories you’ve burned in that session; you just need to turn it on every time.
Just Dance 2022 has also stepped it up with the choreography and graphical design. The game will get you moving from place-to-place along with the music, and the visuals are stunning to behold, especially with Ubisoft shifting some dances to 3D animated choreography for the first time.
Knockout Home Fitness
A relatively new fitness game joined the Switch block in September 2021. For budget gamers, Knockout Home Fitness is a good option as it provides a wealth of boxing-related aerobic workouts on the table. There are plenty of warm ups, boxing, kickboxing, fighting, and challenge workouts to check out, and they’re only three or so minutes each.
If you’re on a tight schedule, Knockout Home Fitness might be great for you. Just keep in mind that it’s not as well-executed as other fitness games on this list and that the music is dog awful. Otherwise, it is a solid option on a budget.
Ring Fit Adventure
One of the best fitness games ever made, Ring Fit Adventure has you squatting, running, and exercising to the max with its inventive workout systems. With this game, you have a resistance band. It allows you to suck in objects nearby your character and crunch your arms for a great muscular workout.
The Joycon from the Nintendo Switch tracks your movements near perfectly, and the gameplay itself is way more exciting than following a has-been celebrity with a workout DVD. There’s also a storyline behind your exercise, which propels you forward in Ring Fit Adventure. The music is pretty decent too, but we wish it had some more standout songs like our favorite video game soundtracks.
Zumba: Burn It Up!
Zumba is a popular dance program around the world, and 505 Games have capitalized on this long-lasting trend with Burn It Up! There are over 30 songs, including “I Like It” by Cardi B, Bad Bunny, and J Balvin that will keep you dancing with the instructors on screen. This Zumba game will teach you routines from the around the world, and the nice thing about this game is that you can decide on the intensity of the workout. You may want to push yourself to the limit or keep it cool, and Zumba: Burn It Up! has a variety of difficulty options for you.
Unlike the four other games on this list, you’ll actually see people giving you instructions on how to perform each workout move, making this game more accessible than others on the list.
Overall, the Nintendo Switch has multiple fitness games available to you for working out. If we had to pick just one option, it would be Ring Fit Adventure as it does a great job of blending fun and a good workout in one game. However, for multiple people, we’d suggest trying Just Dance 2022 as the dance moves are so good in that particular entry of the long-running series.
