River City Girls Zero Unfortunately Delayed to Early 2022

WayForward announced during E3 2021 that River City Girls 2 and River City Girls Zero were both coming to Switch and will be getting physical editions thanks to Limited Run Games. During E3, it was announced that River City Girls Zero would be releasing by the end of 2021. Unfortunately, that is not happening anymore, as the title is shifting to an early 2022 release window.

This is based on the 1994 Super Famicom classic, Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka, now with a new anime opening, manga cutscenes, and song, and it is being localized for the first time ever. One can understand that many western fans are excited for this, but it looks like we will have to wait a bit longer.

WayForward is also working on River City Girls 2, which is an original title that follows up on the 2019 beat ’em up River City Girls. Look forward to more news about River City Girls Zero and River City Girls 2 when they both launch some time next year.
