JINGDU Game Card Case for Switch Review – Simple and Sleek

JINGDU Game Card Case for Nintendo Switch

When it comes to protecting our Switch cartridges, most defer to the original case or a Switch carrying case with card inserts. The JINGDU Game Card Case for Nintendo Switch gives you a simple and sleek design with some fun features that make for a great alternative to housing your many Switch cartridges.

But are these hard-shelled, silicone-laced cases worth your money? Or are you better off using the original cases the games come in? Let’s find out!

I got both the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and the Pokeball themed cases, with the Zelda one being more rectangular and housing up to 24 cartridges and the Pokeball one being square and housing up to 16 cards. One of the nice things is that there are multiple themes and sizes, covering games like Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and Mario, and there is even a Sailor Moon themed case.

The packaging is a bit cheap-looking, and it almost comes off like a shopping mall kiosk that sells off-brand iPhone cases. Thankfully, that is where the negatives stop, because this is a really nice carrying case for your Switch cartridges.

Upon taking out the case, I was impressed with the durability of the hard outer shell. It is mostly scratch-resistant (I mean, it will scratch if you apply enough pressure with a very sharp object), and upon quite a few drop tests, it holds really well. The design and look of the outside is nice and sleek and looks really good alongside my game cases and other Switch accessories.

The JINGDU Game Card Case also has a magnetic buckle design, which makes opening and closing quick and simple. I was worried this would open very easily upon dropping, but to my surprise again, it only opened once when doing the drops tests, which is a testament to how powerful the magnet being used is.

The inside is a silicone sleeve designed to snugly fit Nintendo Switch cartridges in a way that keeps them safe and prevents them from flying out. Upon all of my drop tests, not a single cartridge ever came out, which is even more reassuring if the case does happen to open upon impact. There is even a smaller slot behind where the games go that can house and protect micro-SD cards, in case you may have extras for your Switch.

Depending on your preference, the 16 or 24-slot JINGDU Game Card Cases both do their jobs really well, and if you like to carry around a lot of games, both are beyond acceptable options. I personally have a lot of physical copies of games, so the 24-slot Zelda-themed case is perfect for me!

Unlike the sleeves in a standard Switch protective case, the games being fully exposed on the front is excellent and allows me to find games I want to play more quickly. Funny story, as I was transferring some games over to the JINGDU Game Card Case, I laughed out loud a few times as I completely forgot I had copies of certain games. For that alone, thank you to this case for reminding me of the many fun games I actually own!

If you are looking for a solid protective casing to house all of your (Or a lot of your) Switch cartridges, I cannot recommend the JINGDU Game Card Case enough. I had my reservations at first, but as I tested and used it, I fell more and more in love with the product.

With holidays around the corner and the reasonable price point, this would make a wonderful gift for any gamer in your network, and it is the perfect size for a stocking stuffer.
