Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX Coming to Switch
Koei Tecmo announced today that they are releasing enhanced versions of both Monster Rancher games onto the Nintendo Switch. Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX is scheduled to release on December 9th, 2021 in both Japan and the west, so look forward to this upgrade at the end of the year!
Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX will include more save slots, additional monster slots, and an activity memo. It will also support a high-speed mode that speeds up the gameplay action, and there will even be online rankings.
There will also be a special limited edition released in Japan to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series, and it comes with the following:
- Game software
- Golden Mochi figure with serial number
- Soundtrack CD
- Monster Rancher development materials book
- Tecmo TMP Booklet Vol.2021
- Monster Rancher 2 Secret CD
- Mochi vinyl backpack
Koei Tecmo did confirm that the special edition may not even go into production, because they need a certain number of pre-orders to move forward. With the price at ¥15,070 ($137 USD), I can understand the hesitation from many patrons, but I hope it gets made nonetheless.
Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX will release worldwide on December 9th, so get ready to collect these cute monsters again soon.
