Hybrid RPG & Visual Novel, Ignis Universia, on Kickstarter!
Another day, another Kickstarter campaign has begun! This time it’s two genre’s I do love… RPG and Visual Novel. Perfect combination? Let’s see!
First things first, check out the official trailer below:
Here’s some information taken directly from the Kickstarter page.
Join the Chosen Sisters and their story of friendship, and occasional unnecessary violence, in a Visual Novel mixed with JRPG that not as much steers away from tropes but hits them with the door on the way past.
A Game About Friendship
Ignis Universia: Awakening of the Erudite Empress is themed around the power of friendship both on a narrative and mechanical level. Use the Sisters’ abilities in synergy to solve puzzles and summon powerful (but adorable) beasts.
And there’s a demo to try right now!
- Top-down camera! In a 3D game! Admit it, you’ve missed that top-down camera.
- 100% turn-based battles, so no twitch-reflex special attacks or annoying whack-a-mole minigames.
- There’s a lot of cute animals you can summon!
- Not just jokes: even though there’s a lot of parody and humour in the game, in the heart of the story lies a touching story about friendship, ancient evil beings, and a three-headed corgi.
Ignis Universia is a love letter for games like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series, Tales of Phantasia, Chrono Trigger, and Cosmic Star Heroine. The estimated average completion time is 8-10 hours.
Sounds good, right?! And that art is just… mwah! I’m excited. It’s early days yet, but it’s already made $5212 of its $40,000 target. Let’s hope it can do it!
What do you think? Is this a game you will be picking up on day one? Will you backing this one? What are the Kickstarters you have recently backed? We want to hear from you, so let us know down in the comments! Thank you for stopping by Nintendo Link.
