Mom Hid My Game! 2 is More of the Same, But Still Fun
Mom Hid My Game! 2, the sequel to the absurd 2017 puzzle game, launched on Nintendo Switch and PS4 this past week on April 28th, 2021 to directly compete with New Pokemon Snap. Okay. Maybe that last part is not true, but it is live on the eShop and just as silly and absurd as its predecessor.
Check out the trailer for some fun footage:
The premise for the Mom Hid My Game! series is simple. Your mom took your game away, and she hid it. From the start, things are pretty simple and fairly obvious, but as you progress in the game, the puzzles get more abstract and bizarre. Your mom really knows how to hide your games, huh?
Most puzzles exist within a room or two where you need to search around in a way similar to a point-and-click adventure, but there are also some entertaining puzzles where you need to navigate things like drones through the house without hitting anything. The sequel even has many additional stages to add to the experience.
But if you fail, mom will always be there to shame you and rub your incompetence in your face.
It is a light puzzle game with some great comedic elements. It is not the most challenging or even remotely top-tier, but for only $4.99 USD, it is the perfect price for a nice afternoon of laughter and absurdity.
