Monster Hunter Rise Already Surprises 5 Million Units Shipped Worldwide

monster hunter rise

It was only a week ago when CAPCOM announced that Monster Hunter Rise shipped 4 million copies worldwide, but not we are getting reports that the game has surpassed 5 million units, an incredible feat for a game that launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

This momentum does not seem to be slowing down any time soon, as the incredibly fun monster hunting game is expected to ship significantly more units over time. This is not even taking into consideration all of the digital downloads as well.

These numbers are already significant, because Monster Hunter Rise has already become the best selling portable version of Monster Hunter, dethroning Monster Hunter Portable 3rd at 4.9 million units.

Of Monster Hunter Rise‘s total sales, 1.3 million units are physical copies from Japan alone, the Monster Hunter mecca of the world. That is close to the number of sales that Monster Hunter World sold in Japan during the same time, which is 1.35 million. Speaking of Monster Hunter World, it is going to be difficult for Rise to dethrone what is currently the best-selling Monster Hunter game and best selling CAPCOM game of all time, but the company can put its hope in the Nintendo Switch, a phenomenal product with some more untapped success.
