E3 is one of the grandest gaming conventions in the world, and E3 2006 was one of the biggest showings ever for Nintendo. Not only did it properly introduce us to the Wii and some of its games, but it was also the start of the meteoric rise of the Nintendo DS.
Twitter user forestillusion, who helps to preserve Nintendo’s history in unique ways, has uploaded new footage from the E3 2006 event that shows off Nintendo’s emaculate booth from the time. It includes off-screen gameplay of various titles, including: Super Mario Galaxy, Wii Orchestra, Wii Play tech demos, Wii Sports, WarioWare Smooth Moves, Mega Man ZX, Final Fantasy III, Yoshi’s Island 2, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2, and Star Fox DS.
Another shout out belongs to Chupperson and Luigison, who forestillusian thanks for recording. forestillusion even says that some of the videos include “footage that was never published [before]”.
If you are having trouble accessing all of the videos, you can go to the playlist here for over an hour’s worth of footage. Enjoy your nostalgia trip back to E3 2006! An era far away, but one that is cemented in gaming history.
