Landflix Odyssey Coming to Nintendo Switch December 22nd
Fantastico Studio, the team behind Firework (A game we loved here at Nintendo Link), has announced Landflix Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch and other consoles. This is an action platformer in which players play as Larry, a lazy binge-watcher who finds himself trapped inside a streaming service after using special batteries. This incredible world is called Landflix!
In order to return home, Larry has to recover all five batteries within the TV shows of the Landflix platform, and it looks like an epic 2D journey commences.
What is Landflix Odyssey?
Landflix Odyssey is the fourth project of the Italian team Fantastico Studio, authors of Black Paradox and working on the long-awaited Deodato’s Cannibal, videogame on the Italian director’s famous cannibal series.
Is a 2D platformer that ranges from classical platform to other typical run and gun and Metroidvania gameplay types, in a delightful retro-style pixel art.
The idea of the project was born 3 years ago. After successfully running a Kickstarter campaign the development started. During these years things have happened that have caused a slowdown in development, but now, finally , the game is ready to be released on consoles and PC.
Landflix Odyssey is a clear reference to video-on-demand platforms and TV shows universe.
There are 5 TV shows/playable worlds:
• Peculiar Stuff
• Elder Thrones
• Blindevil
• Going Mad
• The Standing Zombie
These are all inspired by five of the most famous and successful TV shows today! Can you guess what they are?
In each TV show, our hero can count on some special powers that will help him overcome obstacles and dangers in any game world.
Our hero can also move through parallel dimensions, use magic swords, do superhero stuff with superhero tools, take drugs to increase productivity, and defend himself with a crossbow against hordes of zombies.
