Nintendo 64 Wireless Controller – Next Gen on Kickstarter
Retro Fighters has launched their 6th Kickstarter project, and it is an absolute beauty! They have created a Nintendo 64 Wireless Controller that is both functional with a Nintendo 64 and a major improvement on design.
Three years ago, they launched a successful campaign for a wired N64 controller on Kickstarter, and now they have brought forth the Brawler64 Wireless Edition!
The new wireless controller comes with updated features and designs. It will have 2.4GHz wireless technology and a built-in rechargeable battery. The new Brawler64 Wireless Edition also has a wireless range of over 30 feet and a battery life of longer than 10 hours.
What is so special about this Nintendo 64 Wireless Controller?
The same great ergonomic shape and design is still there from the wired version, but now there are also some subtle changes.Â
We have updated the “Z” triggers after much feedback from the gaming community. The triggers will have a different feel to them and will have a more original “digital” press versus an “analog” pull.
There is also bit of a weight difference with the Brawler64 Wireless edition over the original wired version:
Wired Edition: 139g
Wireless Edition: 155g
The wireless Brawler64 is slightly heavier given the added rechargeable battery.
The Brawler64 is compatible with 1st party memory paks and most 3rd party memory paks. Due to the wireless technology, the memory paks are loaded into the included wireless dongle and are not inserted into the controller itself. Also, because of this, rumble and transfer paks are not compatible with the Brawler64 Wireless Edition.
Look at all the colors!
We are releasing limited edition colors, and Kickstarter backers will get the first batch of colors. These colors are very limited, too. Once we sell out of them, they will be gone, as is the case with the many retired colors of the Brawler64 wired controllers.
The campaign is already a success, and it looks like it will only attract more fans of the company and their stellar product. According to Retro Fighters, the plan is to ship out the products as early as December 2020, so if you cannot wait to get your hands on a beautiful Nintendo 64 wireless controller, the wait really is not that long!
