DANGEN Entertainment announced details today for Tokyo Game Show 2020, which includes more details about Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials, as well as Smelter, an action and real-time-strategy hybrid due out in early 2021.

During the time of Tokyo Game Show, a Smelter demo will be available on Steam that includes the following updates; new story content with two new stages, a revamped tutorial based on player feedback, visual and stage updates, and six new trials and two new Elemental Skills.

What is Smelter?

Smelter is an action and real-time-strategy hybrid experience by X PLUS and produced by DANGEN Entertainment. The action platformer combo is clearly inspired by classics of the 16-bit era and is set to be a perfect fit on the Nintendo Switch.

Players will find themselves alternating between top-down strategic gameplay and action-packed platforming levels. You play as Eve, who is trying to uncover the mystery behind Adam’s sudden disappearance and discovers a mysterious talking armor called “Smelter” that synchronizes with her and grants her superpowers.

In blazing 2D action stages, Eve must fight off enemies, climb walls, dash, and unleash Smelter’s devastating elemental attacks that can be powered up through a skill tree system. The game shifts to an overhead tactical battlefield where players control Smelter on-screen with his faithful Zirm forces and must strategically prevent swarms of enemies, expand his territory, and build his mighty base in real time.

As Eve follows Smelter and discovers the truth behind its origin and Adam’s mysterious disappearance, the player will experience two intense genres of gaming in one.

Look forward to experiencing this hybrid gaming experience in early 2021! For more information, you can follow DANGEN Entertainment and X PLUS on social media as new announcements pour in.
