My Nintendo North America Offering Physical Rewards
Since Nintendo changed their rewards program from Club Nintendo to My Nintendo, fans have not been happy about the lack of physical rewards. Frankly, fans have not been happy with the overall direction of My Nintendo. When compared to Japan, other regions’ My Nintendo service, especially, looks pitiful and offers very little to be excited about.
Well, it seems like that is starting to change! The North American version has updated their site to include three physical rewards for platinum and gold coin hoarding members. This is what you can currently get your hands on:
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Phone Ring Holder – 500 Platinum Points
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Three Sheets of Stickers – 300 Platinum Points
- Splatoon 2 Postcard Set – 400 Platinum Points
Just like the Japanese My Nintendo, members in North America do have to pay a shipping charge for these rewards. While not nearly as fun and beneficial as the original Club Nintendo program, things are finally starting to turn for the better as Nintendo offers more options to members.
But as exciting as this is, North America and other regions are still miles away from catching up to Japan. The Japanese version offers loads of physical rewards, including Super Mario x Splatoon collaborative keychains, Paper Mario clips, Animal Crossing bags and bandanas, and loads of stickers for various franchises among many other options, including the absolutely gorgeous Hylian Shield Phone Ring Holder.
Hopefully as other regions begin to receive physical rewards, Nintendo will recognize that other areas are just as interested in this type of fanfare as Japan. Only time will tell, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. For all of you North American players out there, follow this link to check out the rewards!
Thank you for stopping by Nintendo Link for all of your news about Nintendo and anything Nintendo related. What do you think of these physical rewards? Are you going to be burning your Platinum Points on them? Since I mostly game on my Japanese account, my North American account is suffering. Let us know what you plan on getting! Happy gaming, everyone.
