Publisher and co-developer Dotemu, alongside developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games, has announced a new patch for Streets of Rage 4 that brings more than 80 enhancements, bug fixes, and balance changes to the game, all of which were tested by the community itself. Dotemu also releaved the new title in the popular beat-em-up series has been downloaded by more than 1.5 million users.
That second point is great news for the series and its fans, because Streets of Rage 4 was birthed by loud requests from fans for many, many years. These sales numbers should communicate clearly to Dotemu that fans spoke with more than just their mouths and hashtags, they also used their wallets and financially supported the game too. This means that the series has a large chance of continuing, and I for one could not be happier.
Streets of Rage 4 initially released across all platformers back in April, 2020 to high praise, but fans have also been offering great feedback to help improve the game and the series as a whole. It is so important for developers to practice such things and learn from the people who are supporting them from all directions.
The new patch that is available now brings over 80 updates to the game, which were properly tested by the community.
Streets of Rage 4 Update Includes:
- Online improvements: better fluidity and stability, less latency.
- New online stats display options available on the HUD section.
- Balancing improvements for all main characters.
- Major gameplay improvements for all stages.
- Various bug fixes.
- Fixed rare random crashes.
“We couldn’t be happier with the reception of Streets of Rage 4. We thank the fans who have supported the game from day one – a lot of the updates in the patch enhance the replay value for folks who have been with us from the start,” Cyrille Imbert, executive producer on Streets of Rage 4, said. “Additional updates are currently in production and we’ll have more to share on that soon.”
