A New Nintendo Switch Model May Be on the Way
It has been rumored for what feels like ages that a new Nintendo Switch model is on the way. We have been waiting for Nintendo to make the announcement and simply make it official, but that has clearly not happened yet. Many people even believe that a Switch Pro is on the horizon, but that is also nothing more than a rumor.
Well, that is until recently. According to the Taipei-based newspaper Economic Daily Times, they uncovered that a new Nintendo Switch model is entering production later this year and will be launching some time early 2021. The report cites various hardware manufacturers responsible for the Switch’s storage, controllers, and more.
Now, with rumors like this, we must take it as a grain of salt. We cannot have absolute clarity on something like this until Nintendo announces it themselves to make it a reality.
We have to remember that reports have been claiming a third Switch model for over a year now, but nothing in this report points towards that claim. For all we know, this could simply be a new themed Switch. However, speculation would point towards an improved main console.
With the manufacturers behind the flash storage and Joy-Cons behind the helm, one can only assume that a new Nintendo Switch model with a larger storage and improved Joy-Cons is on the horizon. This is usually the modus operandi of Nintendo, especially when it comes to their handheld devices. If we look back at the GBA, DS, and 3DS, we can see improved models throughout their lives, and it looks like the Switch will be no different.
